The Booking Process

Whether you're booking a lifestyle session to celebrate a milestone, an editorial-style portrait with styling flair, or full event coverage for your little one’s big day, the process is designed to feel easy, collaborative, and intentional. Every session is approached with care and a focus on capturing real moments that feel like you. Here's how it works, step by step.

Reach out through the inquiry form to share your vision and desired date. Whether it’s a lifestyle session, a styled shoot, or event coverage, we’ll chat through what you’re envisioning and check availability.

RESERVE YOUR SPOT

Secure your session by signing a contract and submitting your invoice. Once everything’s official, we’ll get to work planning the details of your shoot so everything feels easy and aligned with your style.

STYLE & PREP

If your session includes wardrobe or set styling, we’ll finalize everything before the shoot so you feel confident and ready. I’ll guide you through any prep needed to make the most of your session.

SHOOT & DELIVERY

We’ll create beautiful images that reflect the energy and style of your story. You’ll receive a preview shortly after the session, followed by your full gallery ready to download, share, and print.

LIFESTYLE SESSION

From the snuggles on the couch to walks through your favorite park, lifestyle sessions are all about documenting your life in a relaxed and real way. These sessions take place in home or at a meaningful location, allowing your personality and relationships to shine through.

Whether it’s your growing family, a new chapter in life, or simply wanting to preserve the now, lifestyle sessions are centered on comfort, connection, and the quiet joy of just being together. There’s no pressure to pose, only permission to be present.

EDITORIAL SESSION

We collaborate on every detail from wardrobe to mood board to location to bring your vision to life. The result is bold cinematic imagery that feels elevated and true to you.

EVENT COVERAGE

Celebrate Loud Remember Every Detail

From birthday parties and baby showers to retirement dinners and graduation cookouts, your people matter and so do these memories. Event coverage is built to capture not just what happened but how it felt to be there.

I focus on candid interactions, real laughs, and all the little in between moments that make your celebration unforgettable. You bring the energy I’ll take care of the story.

MINI + MICRO SESSION

Limited Editions with Maximum Impact

Offered just once a year, these sessions are small in size but big on purpose. Winter Mini Sessions are styled seasonal portraits designed for families looking to capture the magic of the holidays with minimal time and maximum charm. Senior Micro Sessions are reserved exclusively for graduates each spring, crafted to highlight their personality and milestone with a blend of editorial and lifestyle flair.

Both sessions are thoughtfully planned with set dates and limited availability. While brief in length, they’re rich in intention and crafted to deliver portraits that feel personal, effortless, and timeless.

How far in advance should I book?: I recommend booking at least 3–4 weeks in advance to ensure availability, especially for weekend or studio sessions. For seasonal minis or limited events, booking opens at specific times and fills quickly.
Do I need to pay a deposit or retainer to book?: Yes, when you book, a 25% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date or session. This retainer comes from your total fee. (Your contract has all of this spelled out.)
Do you have your own studio space?: I don’t own a dedicated studio but I have access to a variety of studio spaces that I can reserve based on what fits your vision best. Whether you’re going for clean and minimal or something more styled and textured I’ll find a studio that works with your session goals and location preferences. Studio rental fees are added to your total and I’ll take care of coordinating everything so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
Do you offer prints or products with your sessions?: I currently do not offer prints or physical products with any of my portrait or event coverage sessions. All final images are delivered digitally with unlimited personal print release so you're free to print and share them however you choose. For winter mini sessions only there is an optional upgrade available at booking or after gallery delivery that includes custom holiday cards and envelopes.
Do you provide props or decorations for styled sessions?: Yes, some styled or editorial sessions may include light props or decorative elements that align with the vision we’ve discussed. If a session requires specific decor, set design, rentals, or custom items like cakes or balloons, I’m happy to help source and coordinate them. These items can be added to your session at an additional cost depending on the scale and needs of the setup.
Do you travel for sessions or events?: Yes, travel is available and already included for locations within a 3-hour round trip of Lake Ridge, VA (zip code 22192). For sessions or events beyond that, travel fees may apply depending on the location and coverage needs. I’ll always confirm those details during the inquiry process to keep things smooth and transparent.
